First week of Teaching Training Programme (05/12/2022 to 09/12/2022)
FIRST WEEK OF TEACHING PROGRAMME (05/12/2022 to 09/12/2022)
On 5 December 2022 I was assigned to take part in the trainee teaching programme as part of 2021-23 B.Ed Curriculum. There were four trainee teachers assigned to Govt. VHSS Pirapancode.
We reached the school early as it was out first day. The headmistress of the institution explained all the activities and duties we have to undertake as part of the programme. We were assigned with both class 8 and class 9.
All Mondays school conduct assembly. On 5 December 2022, the assembly was conducted by Class 7 A. Students actively participated in the assembly.
I was assigned two classes for teaching, class 9A and class 9E. I was very nervous as it is my first encounter with a school atmosphere. I had to take sixth period for class 9A. The day went well. I could engage the class though there were some flaws in it.
Second day(06/12/2022) – second day I had to take fourth and sixth period. Today I made use of ICT to take class. This is a new experience for me, students from Little Kites helped me to connect the projector and laptop. Taking an ICT enabled class created an interest among students to learn further.
Third day (07/12/2022) – Today I had a very busy schedule. I had to handle three classes. My teaching skills and classroom management started improving. I have given activities for the students and they did it well.
Fourth day (08/12/2022)- The day began with a positive energy. I reached school early by 9.00 AM. I had to engage second and third period for the day. Students actively participated in teaching learning process.
I got an opportunity to witness the parade conducted by the NCC team of the school. NCC practice is usually conducted on all days except on Wednesday. The whole process shows the value of discipline and decorum among students.
Fifth day(09/12/2022)- This is the last day of the first phase of teaching practice. The week went well. I started improving my teaching skills and also the classroom management skills. The students are cooperating and the teaching faculties are also cooperative.
